This project is set in the idyllic countryside environment of Yinxing Lake outside of Nanjing. The masterplan develops a lakeside cultural retreat with artisan live/work studios as the centerpiece, complemented by exhibition galleries, spectacular landscaped gardens, recreational facilities and a boutique hotel
Intricate low-rise building clusters draws inspiration from traditional gable roof housing and barn-house architecture, highlighting the possibility for contemporary development to meld with the agricultural vernacular.A star-shaped gallery space exhibits on-going works by resident craft studios.
The complex is further surrounded by more than 60 hectares of organic farmland, walking trails and bike paths, prividing an idyllic agarian setting supporting agri-tourism - creating a valuable addition to the spatial development of Nanjing.
