• WZWX was founded by brothers Dr. Richard and Dr. Stephen Wang in 2014. We currently have offices in Taipei (Taiwan) and Huai’an (China), and the energetic team is managed under the direction of four partners.
Our team specializes in developing integrated design solutions which span across the full range of spatial scales, including site-planning, comprehensive architectural design, to interior design, and custom furniture design.
Our specialist team has experience in the delivery of a range of building types: including bespoke office buildings, hotels, cultural / exhibition buildings, multi-story to high-rise residential projects, and industrial complexes.
 • Parallel to our design experience, our capacities in architectural project management and construction management mean that we are able to assist our clients truly from the inception till completion of each project.
We also possesses extensive experience in supporting international architects and designers with their projects in China - as local co-ordination partners ensuring clear communication and quality control through all stages of project delivery.
We strive to achieve that which is highly challenging for any development project – the seamless fusion of design ideas and quality construction detailing, followed up by careful management of the construction process.
 • Our projects have achieved international and local recognition for their quality.
In 2017, we have received the iF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, and is in contention for the interior design of the year at the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors.
In 2016, our “ROU by T HAM Concept Store” won the retail category in the Asia Pacific Design Awards organized by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).
In 2015, the “Taiwan Glass Donghai Office Building” was awarded the Merit Award in the “Commercial Office” category in the Cross-Strait Design Competition organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, standing out from strong competitors from across China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. The project has since been published in the 2015 China Architecture Yearbook
 • In 2015, our project and construction management project: “The Building on the Water – Shihlien Chemical” designed by the Pritzker Prize laureate Alvaro Siza and Carlos Castanheira, was internationally voted “Office Building of the Year” by ArchDaily, one of the world’s largest architecture websites. This challenging curvilinear building, built on 100,000 m2 artificial water reservoir, is the first large-scale application of white exposed concrete construction in China.
Our current on-going design projects include a state-of-the-art production complex for Taiwan Ham in Pingtung (Taiwan); a lakeside leisure and creative retreat in Nanjing (China), a visitor center and factory complex for a tea plantation in Xishuangbanna (China), as well as a series of interesting commercial and office interiors in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Huai’an (China). Our current project management projects include a “secret” project by Alvaro Siza and Carlos Castanheira, and a multi-purpose building by Carlos
 • Good clients and communication are vital in the making of good architecture. We work closely with our clients during the design process in order to understand their detailed needs and aspirations.
Rather than entering projects with a predetermined aesthetic inclination, we listen, ask questions, and test out different design ideas through development in order to meet clients’ demands. As each project brings different sets of challenges and conditions, our comprehensive design approach take us through iterations of sketches, schematic drawings, physical models, digital models, and life-size mock-ups, in order to test out and develop our ideas, with the goal of finding the right solution for each and every commission.
Whilst we draw substantial accumulated knowledge from past projects, we are constantly looking to examine new ideas, new techniques, and new materials, in our search for world-class solutions.
 • We design bespoke interiors for clients ranging from corporate offices, commercial spaces, residential homes, and hotels to cultural facilities.
We believe an outstanding work of architecture is functionally and aesthetically cohesive from the outside to the inside. Where possible, we design architecture integral with the interior spaces and finishes, ensuring that the inside and outside inter-connect via a compatible design language or aesthetic. Together with our furniture design service, this means custom-making specific pieces to suit individual spaces, or careful selection of available items of furniture / lighting / fittings to shape comprehensive interior environments.
 • Project management is currently considered one of the most essential and challenging tasks in the development cycles in all parts of China. Regardless of design quality, or the ambitions of clients and architects, professional management and quality control of the actual building process is the absolute key to achieving outstanding architecture. Without proper guidance through this process, architectural design intentions are frequently misinterpreted, poorly executed, or modified without proper consent.
WZWX is outstanding in its experience and capacity to work with clients, architects, builders and specialist material suppliers to bring about the desired ‘close-fit’ relationship between the ‘design’ and the ‘built outcome’. We have helped clients and international architects to bring their building visions to fruition, helping them to communicate effectively the parameters of the construction contract, to establish a workable construction plan, to work through essential design/buil
