Occupying a prime corner of the Taipei Marriot Hotel, the new restaurant collaboration between ROU by T-HAM and chef James Sharman combines all-day Modern British cuisine with the finest deli offerings including fresh and cured meats.
The lofty space is characterised by abundant natural light, enjoying expansive views towards an adjoining garden.Inside, a light coloured palette contrasts with the darker and formal vibe of the hotel's public spaces, an distinction intended to invite and lure in passers by. The design orchestrates an inviting and laid-back environment, combining earth-toned tiles, stone table tops and beige leather seating. Lush vegetation planters are foregrounded at the entrance. Softness of materiality and abundant greenery reflects the restaurant's ethos of adopting natural and ernest ingrediants in its cuisine.
At the centre, a continuous work counter wraps along the kitchen to tie up all the necessary working functions, including the bar, ready-to-eat meal counter, cured meat slicing area, and the fresh meat preparation area. An curvacious scupltural overhang hovers above the counter - creating a strong visual feature out of the operational core.
